Top Ten Tips for Selling eBay
My eBay auctions tend to bring in a few more bucks than other eBay sellers get for the same auction items. Here's how I do it:
- Answer questions about your auction items promptly and politely (check your email several times a day when you have something for sale on eBay)
- Post your answers to auction questions to the auction page
- Don't inflate your shipping costs
- Describe the item as clearly as you can
- Be honest
- Make sure your auction photos show the auction item in its best light without hiding any flaws it may have
- Don't use reserve prices (they really annoy auction bidders and make you seem greedy)
- Start your eBay auction with a low bid (.99 or less) to encourage a "bidding frenzy"
- Start your auctions on Sunday afternoon or evening (Eastern standard time)
- Use the 7 day auction to maximize your item's visibility (10 days may try the patience of your bidders and make it seem "less urgent" to bid on your auction)
