About Help for the Computer Shy

michael gorzka

My name is Michael Gorzka and I am the founder of Help for the Computer Shy.

I have been helping people learn how to use computers, email, Microsoft Office applications and the Internet since 1996.

I currently teach basic computer skills in classrooms and through distance learning education programs.

But I feel that I've been most successful in teaching people on a one to one basis.

This being the case I've created a line of "instructor in a box" products (well not really in a box per se but rather in DVDs, eBooks, and printed manuals).

In short, I've designed my computer help products to be the next best thing to having me sitting right next to you at your computer.

About our Computer Help DVDs & Manuals

Many computer help books and manuals seem to assume some basic computer knowledge on the part of the learner and/or they overwhelm you with too much information.

Unlike other computer help products, my computer help DVDs and manuals do not assume any previous computer knowledge nor do I bore you with a lot of technical stuff that you do not need to know.

Furthermore, I am an experienced computer teacher who is used to teaching "computer shy" people who have very little or no computer experience.

More About the Computer Help DVDs

Many people have visited the public libraries where I have been employed asking for computer help videos and DVDs.

I had such a hard time finding current (and affordable) computer help videos that I decided to create my own.

My computer help DVDs may not be flashy or as polished as a Hollywood blockbuster but they will help you (or your computer shy friends) learn how to use effectively use computers (both Macs & PCs).

Trying to Make a Difference

I have three missions in life. One of them (as you probably already know) is teaching people basic computer, email, and web surfing skills.

The others are helping parents keep their children safe and helping animals in need.

The e-books on this web site which inform parents about the drawbacks to computer use and help protect their children from online bullies and predators are free.

I've spent a lot of time and resources researching and creating those products but I cannot in good conscience take money for them.
